If you haven't already got an account, please click here and create your account. It’s important to enter your mobile number as this is how Content will communicate with you going forward. 

Once created or if you are already awesome, please move onto Step 1.

Step 1 - Adding your social media accounts

First and foremost you will need to add your login details for your social media pages, you can do this by clicking on the icon on the left-hand side in your account.

Once you have clicked on the icon of the social media page you wish to add you will be asked to enter your login details for this site, if you are asked at any stage to ‘allow ContentApp’ please say yes in order for us to have permission to post to your pages on your behalf. 

If you want to share news to your company pages as well as your personal ones, you will still need to enter your personal logins at this stage, as long as you are an admin of your company pages we will be able to access these through your personal logins. 

The exception to this is Twitter; they require you to have a separate login for your personal and company pages. 

Once you have successfully saved your login details you will see a tick appear next to the icon.

Heads up, due to LinkedIn's policy they require you to reassociate your account with us every 60 days, but don't worry we will send you an email notification beforehand. 

Step 2 - Setup Content

Now you have added your social media logins, you need to tell us where to share and decide on some settings. 

Click on the button on the left-hand side that says ‘Setup Content’. Content will be your social media assistant and best friend soon enough!

The first page you will see is titled ‘Sources’. This is the list of websites that content will read through to find new articles to suggest to you. Let us know if you need help in adding some sources by clicking the chat icon in the bottom right or by reading the sources guide.

Your next button to click is ‘Where to share’. This is where the magic happens.

On this page you will be able to choose your pages or social profiles you wish Content to post to. 

Note; Linkedin allows you to post to both your personal and company page, so remember to select both in the drop down if you want to.

Underneath your social profile options, you have some additional settings to decide on, things like how often, whether to add emojis and how we should notify you. 

We recommend having SMS notifications and requiring approval of each share.

Once you are happy with your settings, click Save.

After ‘Where to share’ your next buttons are ‘Minimum Sentiment’ and ‘Keyword filters’.

These allow you to add filters on the type of news we find and suggest to you, whether it be that you want to filter out bad news before it reaches you, or if you want to ensure you never share something about a particular topic. 

Next we have…… Hashtags! Love them or hate them, they are #powerful to expand your reach

If you set predefined hashtags, Content will randomly choose from your list. This is great for always including your company name or sector.

Last but not least, default image. 

If you set a default image, Content will use this when an image is not available on the news article. If you don't set this, we will take a screenshot to ensure you always have an image with each share.

Step 3 - Lead Generation

By enabling Lead Generation, whenever a connection or follower clicks on news Content has shared for you, they will be presented with your website before viewing the article. This gives you the opportunity to grab their attention and turn them into passive candidates or clients.

You can set this page as any page on your website.

However, if your website is not secure (HTTPS) you will need to ask your developers to update it for you before this feature can be used.  If you need help with that, just chat to us using the button on the bottom right.

Tip* Having a secure website also improves your google ranking!

Step 4 - Job Shares

Content will share jobs from your website onto your social media pages and redirect candidates back to your website so they can apply.

You can choose a design to follow your brand guidelines & Content will build an image for each share.

Once you are happy with the job share design let us know by chatting to us on the bottom right  so this can be switched on for you. 

Please be aware you will not receive notifications for job shares, once you are finished with the design there isn't anything to approve. 

Step 5 - Making new friends 

Now your account setup is complete, its all about the communication with Content, your new friend. 

You will need to converse with Content to let her know what you like and don't like so she can learn from you. She's friendly and easy to get on with, we have a guide available here on the commands she understands.

Once she knows you inside out, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without her.
